About Our Header Image
Why This Header Image
This header image is meant to convey the message of all inclusive. The 4 flags in this image are club logos of teams that dont necissarily finish at the top of the league. We are trying to show that we provide info for even all the underdog teams!
Where Was the Pieces to This Image Found.
The flags and main picture of the referee were all found in "Pixabay.com". We know we are allowed to use these images because their site states, "free use under pixabay content license" their license states, "
Subject to the Prohibited Uses (see below), the Content License allows users to:
✓Use Content for free
✓Use Content without having to attribute the author (although giving credit is always appreciated by our community!)
✓Modify or adapt Content into new works"
Use of Manovich's Techniques
Manovich, the creator of an article that discussed image techniques, he talked about "A Map of Software" which had multiple steps in accomplishing the creation of an image through the uses of editing techniques. The first technique that Manovich's talked about was labeled as "1a" and it was a technique that was used to blur 2 of the added image layers. This allowed to add a sense of mystery and coolness to the overall header image.

Comparison to Davinson single layer
Unlike Davinson single-layer bitmap imaging, more focus was spread out across the merging of layers into the main and editing from there. Davinson also talked about more digital imaging and the way of drawing lines and focusing them to create an endproduct image. We did not do this and instead used Pixabay photos.

Youtube Tutorial
I expect users to find my video through videos related to mine, the youtube recommendation system, or simply search results. When looking at an article published by Christine T. Wolf titled “DIY videos on Youtube: Identity and possibility in the age of all” we see Wolf explain that the youtube algorithm works in a way to recommend viewers options that are similar to videos other people found useful when searching a similar or identical request. For example, when people search up “how do I know where to watch premier league games?” or “how can I join a fantasy league”, if my video is seen as helpful by the youtube algorithm it’ll pop up to anyone searching up those requests. Additionally, Wolf's article also discusses that people lean more towards videos that are clear and/or relatable. In the article Wolf also explains how people lean more towards step by step videos explaining how to perform a task with clarity. I also do this in my video by thoroughly going through every tab and explaining what needs to be done to access premier league games, access a fantasy, and go through my website. Wolf also mentions “DIY culture” which means “do it yourself culture” and makes it understood that people like videos that are more relatable and give a sense of trust. I feel that in my video I am going through my website and explaining what to do from my point of view which similarly emphasizes that DIY appeal that Wolf talks about.

Possible questions viewers may have
How do these memes relate to the topic of the premier league?
The first meme deals with a premier league manager by the name of Jose Mourinho. He was asked about a an altercation that occurred in a post game interview.
The second meme deals with a player in the premier league that played for Manchester United. He had a problem with a call the referee made which led to the referee making that face.
Lastly, The third meme deals with a player by the name of Luis Suarez. He also played in the premier league. He sometimes bit players in the heat of the moment leading to that meme to be created.
What are the ideals of the selected memes?
When referring to a text "The Language of Internet Memes" created by the critical thinker, Patrick Davison, it is important to keep i mind the redefined purpose of a meme, Davison describes the as, "An Internet meme is a piece of culture, typically a joke, which gains influence through online transmission" (Davison 4). Davison breaks the definition into three main parts. These parts include, Manifestation, behavior, and ideal. When looking at the "ideals" for the selected memes it is clear that the main idea behind all three of them consist of funny and quirky memes aimed to be used as jokes. The second one aims to be more of a reaction joke which can be driven by an ideal such as "the face is funny". The third one's ideal can be "the action of biting someone is so crazy its funny". The first meme is a little bit more of a complex meme but the ideal can be something like "try your best not to speak".

What are the "behaviors" of the selected memes?
The behavior of the first meme deals with a photographed picture of a premier league manager with subtitles indicating what he's saying. The second meme's behavior deals with a close up photographed picture of the referee talking with a player. The picture was purposefully taken at that exact time to show the face of the referee. Lastly the beahior of the last meme deals with an edited text stating "hungry hungry suarez" as well as edited pictures of suarez biting, placed top of a game that deals with chomping. All these memes are replicable and spread through the reuse of images.

What are the manifestations of the selected memes, and how do they differ from other possible manifestations?
How can these manifestations appeal to me as a viewer?
A possible manifestation of the first meme include people captioning a scenario on top of the meme and keeping the subtitles at the bottom stating "If I speak I am in trouble". The second meme's manifestation deals with people captioning a scenario where that reaction is made to emphasize a joke. Lastly a possible manifestation for the third meme involves adding a video of Suarez biting a player then after showing the meme to indicate a joke. They are different from other approaches because some people may creatively use them as motivational memes.
These manifestations can help you as a viewer because they show a humourous and funny side about the premier league that can make it even more enjoyable for you. Seeing the manifestaions of these memes can make you feel the need to keep up with the premier league so that you can understand these memes right away, without the need of looking up the context.

This podcast is filled with beneficial information! Specifically the podcast covers a review of multiple websites (fanatics.com and soccer.com) comparing the best prices of merchandise so that my audience of premier league supporters know more options when buying sports gear of their favorite teams or players. The podcast also had a public service announcement segment right before the review of the second website (soccer.com), discussing what the nonprofit "kickitout" is all about. You can also expect an introduction and conclusion. There are no guests in this podcast.

Takeaways
In the process of creating this website for you premier league lovers, The creator of the website took a course to help in his website creation skills. The course that was taken to help create a beneficial site for you all is “Strategic presentation”. There are a few important things to note from this class, a couple of them being image layering techniques and the understanding of memes. When looking at the header image of this website it is important to know that the skills and techniques used to create it were taught in the “strategic presentation” course through the readings of Davison and Manovich. The image editing technique known as “blur” is a cool take away from this course. It is important to note that the creator, Manovich, of one of the readings, “inside photoshop”, refers to techniques such as this one as “1a”. Many websites use the technique of layering an image on top of another while also blurring it to either add focus to another part of the image or to draw less attention to that picture in specific. It is important to know what techniques are being used in the sites that we may go on because this helps us understand the purpose of what the site creator is trying to do. The second thing that can be taken away from the course “Strategic Presentation” is the understanding of memes. When we first see memes on social media it is easy to simply look, laugh, and scroll. However in all honesty there are a good level of steps that go into making a meme fulfil its purpose. For example when looking at the publishing of a meme it is important to note that behaviors, manifestations, and ideals are all things we should be thinking about when making a meme. Doing so, can help predict reactions and help in the creation of a meme with an intended result.
